BORIS LOJKINE

Boris Lojkine, a philosophy graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure, left academia after completing his thesis “Crisis and History” and moved to Vietnam, where he made two documentary films, CEUX QUI RESTENT (2001) and LES ÂMES ERRANTES (2005), both tell the Vietnamese side of the impossible mourning of men and women whose lives have been torn apart by war. With HOPE (2014), his first feature, he shifted focus to African migrants. The film was presented at the Cannes Critics’ Week and received dozens of awards in international festivals. CAMILLE (2019) won multiple awards, including the Audience Award at Locarno.
