Born in Bangalore (India), Kiran R is a screenwriter, director, and editor. Filmmaking was a choice made out of a passion for cinema despite holding a degree in engineering. After a few years of employment in the field of animation and VFX, he started to make live-action short films on zero-budget with the help of his friends which garnered recognition and awards at international film festivals. he also assisted director Mani Ratnam in his 2017 Tamil feature film, Kaatru Veliyidai.
