Synopsis

A poor woman named Hucheeri goes through a lot of difficulties to bring her ten-year-old daughter a taste of chicken curry. Her stepmother forces her to marry a drunkard, her father dies, and she is separated from her loved ones. Hucheeri’s daughter tells her about a man who is cooking chicken curry and she decides to cook some rice in hopes of getting some chicken curry. Hucheeri has to go through a lot of struggles to get the chicken curry for her daughter, but in the end she is successful. This story is about the struggles of women in modern society who have to fight against injustices.

Champa p shetty

Director

Champa Shetty has been an actor and director in Kannada theatre for many years. She has won a gold medal in an MA in performing arts from Bangalore University, and her expressive voice has led to a successful career as a voice artist. She has worked in many Kannada movies, voiced over several Kannada documentaries, and anchored many prestigious live programs. She was awarded the Best Dubbing Artist, Karnataka state award in 2007-08. Her second directorial movie, “Koli Esru”, was well received by critics and general audiences and premiered at several prestigious film festivals.
