FILM FESTIVAL
BIFFes – Bengaluru International Film Festival – the flagship cultural congregation of the capital city of Bengaluru – Riding on the stupendous success of the past 13 years, the 14th Edition of BIFFes, with FlAPF Accreditation, will be held from 23 – 30, March 2023. The film festival, which took its genesis, in the winter of 2006, has risen in size, scope and stature, carving a special niche for itself as a must see festival, in these last 13 Editions. BIFFes brings with it a bounteous bouquet promising enriching experience and engagement with cinema, in its 14th Edition.


Asian Competition
The Asian Competition Section acts as a window to filmmakers in the Asian region to display contemporary trends, styles and shared narrative concerns that have engaged them. Eventual winners are picked by a panel of eminent jurors.

Indian Competition

Kannada Competition
The Kannada Competition Section provides a window for exhibiting the best of Kannada language films made during the year with the winners being picked by a jury of experts. Besides rewarding the creative works and recognising local talents, it also enables the filmmakers to gain recognition, and enable prospective overseas curators to pick Kannada films for their festival circuits.

Curated Events
The Cinema of World Section showcases a multifarious selection of films from across the globe. It provides an opportunity for cinephiles to experience the diverse talents, contemporary cinemas and trends, besides promoting cultural exchanges and understanding between nations.

Fipresci Jury at 14th Biffes Bengaluru

Centenary celebration of V.K. Murthy
To mark the centenary of the noted cinematographer V.K. Murthy, (1923-2014) the Dada Phalke Award Winner, a retrospective of his films is being held at the 14th Biffes, 23-30, 2023.

14ನೇ ಆವೃತ್ತಿಯ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಚಲನಚಿತ್ರೋತ್ಸವ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 23 ರಿಂದ 30 ರವರೆಗೆ ನಡೆಯಲಿದ್ದು, ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಬಸವರಾಜ ಬೊಮ್ಮಾಯಿ ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಉತ್ಸವದ ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಲಾಂಛನವನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

The venue will remain Orion Mall, Rajajinagar, like previous years, said Revenue Minister R. Ashok, who has been tasked with organising the festival this year.

BENGALURU: The 14th edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFEs), which will be held between March 23 and 30, will see around 300 films from about 55 countries being screened.
