When caregiver Noor is offered her dream job as a chef in Paris, she can no longer care for her father Musa, who suffers from dementia. In response, she helps him migrate to Morocco, which causes resistance among the rest of the family.

Abdelkarim El-Fassi (b. 1972) is a Moroccan–Dutch filmmaker who works closely with his sister and producer, Asma El-Fassi. Together, under their production company Zouka, they have made acclaimed documentaries such as MY FATHER THE EXPAT (2014), WHEN MA LEFT FOR MARS (2017), and OUT THERE (2024). PORTE BAGAGE marks El-Fassi’s feature-length directorial debut.
