The story follows Maghi Munda, a young indigenous girl who loses her parents to brutal violence and flees the city to survive on her own. She meets Seraj Ansari, a compassionate band musician, and begins working as a laborer carrying tube lights in wedding processions. With Seraj’s guidance, Maghi learns to play musical instruments and gradually gains confidence and independence. Against many obstacles, she builds a new life and earns respect in the male-dominated world of wedding bands.

ಕಥೆ ಯುವ ಆದಿವಾಸಿ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಮಾಘಿ ಮುಂಡಾಯನ್ನು ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಪೋಷಕರನ್ನು ಕ್ರೂರವಾಗಿ ಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ನಂತರ, ಭಾರೀ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದ ಮಾಘಿ ಬದುಕುಳಿಯುವ ದೃಢ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರದಿಂದ ಪಲಾಯನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳು ದಯಾಳು ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಸಂಗೀತಗಾರ ಸೆರಾಜ್ ಅನ್ಸಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮದುವೆ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಟ್ಯೂಬ್ ಲೈಟ್ ಹೊರುವ ಕೂಲಿಯ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ಅವಳ ಹೊಸ ಜೀವನ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಕಾಲಕ್ರಮೇಣ ಮಾಘಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೆರಾಜ್ ನಡುವೆ ಆಳವಾದ ಬಾಂಧವ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆದು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಸೆರಾಜ್ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ವಾದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಾದಿಸುವ ತರಬೇತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾಘಿ ಆತ್ಮನಿರ್ಭರ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಸಂಪನ್ನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ರೂಪಾಂತರಗೊಂಡು, ಪುರುಷಾಧಿಪತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಬ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನದೇ ಗುರುತನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.

NPK Purushotam is an Indian filmmaker whose background includes more than a decade of work in Indian cinema as a director, assistant director and collaborator on independent and regional projects, including work with National Award winning director Girish Malik. His filmography includes the short BANDHA KHET (2021) and the feature DAHLEEZ (2022), along with two indigenous documentaries made for the state government. His work focuses on indigenous voices, regional narratives, and socially rooted storytelling. His films have been selected at the Bengaluru International Short IFF, Maoriland FF, and several other international folklore and regional platforms.
