Bhairathi Ranagal’s journey begins in the drought-stricken village of Ronapura, where the community struggles with a dire water shortage. As a young boy, Bhairathi witnesses his father’s relentless but futile attempts to gain the government’s attention through written pleas. The indifference of government officials leaves a lasting scar on the boy, pushing him to take extreme measures. Frustrated by the system’s apathy, Bhairathi bombs the government office, killing the officials responsible for ignoring the villagers’ plight.

ಬರಗಾಲದಿಂದ ತತ್ತರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ರೋಣಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಸಮುದಾಯ ನೀರಿಗೆ ಹಾಹಾಕಾರ ಪಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಭೈರತಿ ತಂದೆ ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದರು ಸ್ಪಂದನೆ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದನ್ನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ಕಂಡಿದ್ದ ಭೈರತಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಭ್ರಷ್ಟ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿರುವ ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ತನ್ನದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ಆರಂಭಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆ ಜನರ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ವಿಶ್ವಾಸಗಳಿಸಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿನ ನಾಯಕನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Following this success, Narthan directed BHAIRATHI RANAGAL (2024), a prequel to MUFTI, exploring the backstory of the titular character portrayed by Shivarajkumar.
