Based on Sonia S's autobiography, MIKKA BANNADA HAKKI is a coming-of-age story about 12-year-old Sonia, a girl with albinism from a poor village near Bengaluru. Her alcoholic father resents her, while her well-meaning mother is helpless. When she joins 8th grade in a city school, she faces discrimination and hostility from classmates, with no support from her class teacher, Ashwini. Struggling with self-doubt and despair, Sonia is pushed to the brink. Over time, she transforms from a timid, self-pitying girl into a mature young woman who learns self-acceptance and inner peace.

ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಹೈ ಸ್ಕೂಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಓದುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಅಲ್ಬಿನಿಸಂನಿಂದಾಗಿ ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸುವ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಪರಿಚಿತರು, ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರಿಂದ ತಾರತಮ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಾಗಿ ಓದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ತಂದೆ ಮದ್ಯ ವ್ಯಸನಿ ಮಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾಳಜಿ ವಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತಾಯಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ತೋರಿದರು ಅಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತನಗೆ ಕ್ರೂರವಾಗಿರುವ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲಾಗದೆ ಸೋನಿಯಾ ಜೀವನ ಕೊನೆಗಳಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಧಾರಿಸಿದಾಗ ತಾಯಿ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೆತರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಂತರ ಅವಳ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳವಾದ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಸಕರಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿ ನೋಡಲು ಶುರುಮಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ತನ್ನ ನೋವನ್ನು ನಗುವಾಗಿ ಪರಿವರ್ತಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹಾಸ್ಯದ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನಗಿಸಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿ ಅದು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದಿದ್ದರು, ತನ್ನ ನ್ಯೂನತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವ ಮನಸ್ಥೈರ್ಯ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾಳೆ.

Manohara K comes from a humble rural background and made his acting debut at the age of 13 as the lead in RAILWAY CHILDREN. His powerful performance earned him the National Film Award and the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Child Actor in 2017. He later took on supporting roles in films like PINKI ELLI? and HADINELENTU. He also worked as an assistant director for HADINELENTU. MIKKA BANNADA HAKKI is his directional debut.
