Soldiers with a mysterious sleeping sickness are transferred to a temporary clinic in a former school. The memory-filled space becomes a revelatory world for housewife and volunteer Jenjira, as she watches over Itt, a handsome soldier with no family visitors. There may be a connection between the soldiers’ enigmatic syndrome and the mythic ancient site that lies beneath the clinic. Magic, healing, romance and dreams are all part of Jen’s tender path to a deeper awareness of herself and the world around her.

ವಿಚಿತ್ರವಾದ ನಿದ್ರೆ ರೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ತುತ್ತಾದ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು, ಹಳೆಯ ಶಾಲೆಯೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಲಾದ ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಯಂಸೇವಕಿಯಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ ಜೆನ್ಜಿರಾ ಎಂಬ ಗೃಹಿಣಿಗೆ, ಆ ಹಳೆಯ ಶಾಲೆಯ ಆವರಣವು ಹೊಸ ಲೋಕವನ್ನೇ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡದ 'ಇಟ್' ಎಂಬ ಸೈನಿಕನ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಜೆನ್ಜಿರಾ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೆ ಕಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ನಿಗೂಢ ನಿದ್ರೆಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಕೆಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪುರಾತನ ಪವಿತ್ರ ತಾಣಕ್ಕೂ ಏನೋ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿರುವುದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಅರಿವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಮಾಟ-ಮಂತ್ರ, ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ, ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕನಸುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಸಾಗುವ ಈ ಪ್ರಯಾಣವು, ಜೆನ್ಜಿರಾ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ಈ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಿಂದ ನೋಡಲು ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ.

Apichatpong Weerasethakul, (b. 1970 in Bangkok, Thailand) raised in Khon Kaen, is one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive voices. As the son of doctors who worked in remote provinces, he grew up close to rural life, an experience that shapes his work. He studied architecture at Khon Kaen University and filmmaking at The Art Institute of Chicago, and founded Kick the Machine in 1999. His films include MYSTERIOUS OBJECT AT NOON (2000), TROPICAL MALADY (2004), UNCLE BOONMEE WHO CAN RECALL HIS PAST LIVES (2010), and MEMORIA (2021). He won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2010.
