Ever since being startled by a loud ‘bang’ at daybreak, Jessica is unable to sleep. In Bogotá to visit her sister, she befriends Agnes , an archaeologist studying human remains discovered within a tunnel under construction. Jessica travels to see Agnes at the excavation site. In a small town nearby, she encounters a fish scaler, Hernan. They share memories by the river. As the day comes to a close, Jessica is awakened to a sense of clarity.

ಒಂದು ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ಕೇಳಿಸಿದ ಜೋರಾದ ಶಬ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಚ್ಚಿಬಿದ್ದ ಜೆಸ್ಸಿಕಾಳಿಗೆ, ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಿದ್ರೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರಿಯನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಬೊಗೋಟಾ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಅವಳಿಗೆ, ಆಗ್ನೆಸ್ ಎಂಬ ಪುರಾತತ್ವ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞೆಯ ಪರಿಚಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆಗ್ನೆಸ್ ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಸುರಂಗವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ತೆಯಾದ ಹಳೆಯ ಮಾನವ ಅವಶೇಷಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅವರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಜೆಸ್ಸಿಕಾ ಆ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಹರ್ನಾನ್ ಎಂಬ ಮೀನುಗಾರ ಸಿಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನದಿಯ ದಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹಳೆಯ ನೆನಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದಿನದ ಕೊನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಜೆಸ್ಸಿಕಾಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಜೀವನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಂದು ಹೊಸ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅರಿವು ಮೂಡುತ್ತದೆ.

Apichatpong Weerasethakul, (b. 1970, Bangkok, Thailand) raised in Khon Kaen, is one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive voices. As the son of doctors who worked in remote provinces, he grew up close to rural life, an experience that shapes his work. He studied architecture at Khon Kaen University and filmmaking at The Art Institute of Chicago, and founded Kick the Machine in 1999. His films include MYSTERIOUS OBJECT AT NOON (2000), TROPICAL MALADY (2004), UNCLE BOONMEE WHO CAN RECALL HIS PAST LIVES (2010), and MEMORIA (2021). He won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2010.
