FAMILY PATTABIC is a documentary on the life and legacy of filmmaker Pattabhiram Reddy, a native of Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. In 1970, he produced and directed the Kannada classic SAMSKARA, a landmark film based on the novel of the same name by Jnanpith Award–winning writer U. R. Ananthamurthy. SAMSKARA won the President’s Gold Medal for Best Film and received several international film festival awards, creating history in Kannada cinema. This documentary traces Pattabhiram Reddy’s journey and explores the making of this path-breaking film that changed the course of Kannada filmmaking.

Born in 1952, Huli Chandrashekar is a celebrated filmmaker who has shaped Kannada cinema for four decades. He earned his iconic nickname after directing the critically acclaimed movie Huli Banthu Huli (1978). A specialist in literary adaptations, he directed the landmark TV series Malegalalli Madumagalu (1996) and over 3,000 television episodes. His immense cultural contributions have earned him several prestigious honors, including the Nada Prabhu Kempegowda Award and a special felicitation at the Raichur Kannada Sahitya Sammelana for his service to Kannada heritage.
