Amreen, a Muslim woman gifted in cooking, becomes the family’s breadwinner after her husband Imtiaz is injured. Battling prejudice for her black hijab and resistance at home, she finds work as a cook for a vegan couple. As her skills gain recognition, Amreen discovers independence, quietly disrupting the balance of her 18-year marriage. With touches of humour and imagination, the film follows her quiet defiance of tradition and her search for dignity, self-worth, and a life shaped on her own terms.

ಅಮ್ರೀನ್ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಮಹಿಳೆ, ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಕಲೆಯಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತಿ ಇಮ್ತಿಯಾಜ್ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಾಗ, ಸಂಸಾರವನ್ನು ಸಾಕೋ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಅಮ್ರೀನ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಮನೆಯವರ ವಿರೋಧ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊರಗಿನ ಜನರ ತಾರತಮ್ಯದ ನಡುವೆಯೂ ಅವಳು ಪಾರುಲ್ ಮತ್ತು ವಿನೋದ್ ಎಂಬ ದಂಪತಿಗಳ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡುಗೆ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ತನಗೆ ಅಪರಿಚಿತವಾದ ಹೊಸ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಅಡುಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತಾ ಸಾಗುವ ಅಮ್ರೀನ್, ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯಿಂದಾಗಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ಗಳಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಇದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಆತ್ಮವಿಶ್ವಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಂದುಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯು ಅವಳ 18 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ದಾಂಪತ್ಯದ ಸಮತೋಲನವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಏರುಪೇರು ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಂದರ ಕಲ್ಪನೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಾಗುವ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಿಳೆ ತನ್ನ ಘನತೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಂತ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸಮಾಜದ ಕಟ್ಟುಪಾಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವ ಬಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Tannishtha Chatterjee (b. 1980, India) studied Chemistry before graduating from the National School of Drama, New Delhi. An acclaimed actor across Indian and international cinema, her films include BRICK LANE (2007), SHADOWS OF TIME (2013), WATCH INDIAN CIRCUS (2011), ROAD, MOVIE (2009), PARCHED (2015), ANGRY INDIAN GODDESSES (2015), LION (2016), ISLAND CITY (2015), and MONSOON SHOOTOUT (2013). She won the National Film Award for DEKH INDIAN CIRCUS (2011). Her critically acclaimed turn in SHADOWS OF TIME (2013) travelled to Toronto and Berlin. She made her directorial debut with ROAM ROME MEIN (2018), which screened internationally in 2019.
