With a new job and a modest apartment, Sarah builds a hopeful life in Delhi with Abhi, an artist preparing for his first solo exhibition. Everyday pressures soon intrude: a prejudiced landlord, family expectations, and a risky decision that threatens their fragile stability. In a city hostile to outsiders and daughters, Sarah and Abhi find solace in friendship with Simon and Gopika, fellow wanderers grappling with loss, displacement, and longing. As winter closes in, the film becomes a tender portrait of love, friendship, and the quiet struggle for belonging in an unforgiving city.

Sanju Surendran is an Indian filmmaker and a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, where he trained under Mani Kaul. His documentary KAPILA (2014) won the National Award for Best Documentary and received international recognition, including Visions du Réel. His debut feature AEDAN – GARDEN OF DESIRE (2017) won the Rajata Chakoram for Best Debut Director and the FIPRESCI Award. His latest feature, IF ON A WINTER’S NIGHT (2025), won the Hylife Vision Award at the Busan International Film Festival.
