Pernat finds himself in a police interrogation, accused of murder, and unable to recall any details of the crime, or even his own life. He’s released back into a world of raving lunatics and deranged dentists, murderous doctors and scientists who believe the secret of human creation is inside the walls of a cast-iron oven.

Piotr Szulkin (1950-2018) was a visionary of "asocial fiction." He graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1970) and the Łódź Film School (1975). Famous for his "Apocalyptic Tetralogy," including THE WAR OF THE WORLDS: NEXT CENTURY (1981) and GA-GA: GLORY TO THE HEROES (1986), he blended sci-fi with Kafkaesque satire. Szulkin won the "Best Science Fiction Film Director" at Eurocon (1984) and the FIPRESCI Prize at Madrid. A dedicated academic, he served as a professor at the Łódź Film School, influencing generations of Polish filmmakers.
