Synopsis
Io Capitano tells the story of the adventurous journey of Seydou and Moussa, two young men who leave Dakar to make their way to Europe. A contemporary Odyssey through the dangers of the desert, the horrors of the detention centers in Libya, and the perils of the sea.

Director's Biography
MATTEO GARRONE
Matteo Garrone (b. 1968, Italy) gained recognition in 1996 for his short film SILHOUETTE, which won a prize at the Sacher Festival. His feature debut, TERRA DI MEZZO (1997), won the prize for best film at the Turin festival Cinema Giovani. AFTER THE EMBALMER (2002), which won a prize for just about every cinematographic aspect in Italy, his International art-house hit Gomorrah received a Golden Globe nomination and the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes.
