Synopsis
Through her child’s eyes, Patpro will go through three periods of the history of her indigenous people in the heart of the Brazilian forest. Tirelessly persecuted, but guided by their ancestral rites, their love of nature, and their fight to preserve their freedom, the Krahô never stop inventing new forms of resistance.

Director's Biography
JOAO SALAVIZA & RENEE NADER MESSORA
Born in 1984, João Salaviza earned the Palme d’Or at Cannes for his debut short, ARENA, and the Golden Bear at the Berlinale for RAFA. His first feature, MOUNTAIN, premiered at Venice, and he co-directed THE DEAD AND THE OTHERS, which premiered at Cannes. Renée Nader Messora, a cinematographer, worked on MOUNTAIN and engaged with the Krahô community. Her co-direction of THE DEAD AND THE OTHERS at Cannes 2018 gained international recognition, leading to THE BURITI FLOWER, her second feature with João Salaviza, shot over fifteen months in Krahô Indigenous Land.
