1997. Eight-year-old Linda drifts from her wealthy grandmother’s Swiss villa with her carefree mother, Eva. In Italy, they meet sisters Azzurra and Marta. A chance summer encounter binds the three girls in a gang to protect each other, their youth, and freedom. Around them swirl selfish parents chasing fragile dreams, gossiping neighbors, and a queer babysitter searching for belonging in a homophobic world.

1997. ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷದ ಲಿಂಡಾ, ಏನಕ್ಕೂ ಅಷ್ಟು ತಲೆಕೆಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದ ಅವಳ ತಾಯಿ ಇವಾ ಜೊತೆ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಅಜ್ಜಿಯ ಸ್ವಿಸ್ ವಿಲ್ಲಾವನ್ನು ತೊರೆದು ಹೊರಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಇಟಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಅಜ್ಜುರಾ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾರ್ಟಾ ಎಂಬ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯ ಒಂದು ಆಕಸ್ಮಿಕ ಭೇಟಿಯೇ ಮೂವರು ಹುಡುಗಿಯರನ್ನು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು, ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಲ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಬೆಸೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಇವರ ಸುತ್ತ ಸ್ವಾರ್ಥ ಪೋಷಕರು, ಗಾಸಿಪ್ ಮಾಡುವ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ವೀರ್ ದ್ವೇಷಪೂರ್ಣ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕ್ವೀರ್ ಬೇಬಿಸಿಟರ್ ಕಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Valentina Bertani born Mantova, Italy is a director and screenwriter working across music videos, advertising, and documentary cinema. Her work includes videos for Ligabue, Negramaro, and The Kolors, and campaigns for GUCCI, Valentino, and Toyota. Her documentary THE CROWN SHYNESS (2022) screened at the Venice FF, was shortlisted for the David di Donatello Awards, and won a Silver Ribbon. Her sister, Nicole Bertani, is a creative director, graphic designer, and filmmaker whose practice spans print, digital, and film, with collaborations including BVLGARI, SELETTI, and GUCCI. MOSQUITOES mark their first feature film co-directed together.
