Gloria, a 10-year-old girl, is spending her vacation in the hospital with her mother, a hard working nurse. While exploring the facility, Gloria meets Sofia, a girl convinced that her great grandmother’s worsening health is a result of her hospital admission. Bonding over their shared desire to leave, the two girls find solace in each other’s company. As departure becomes inevitable, the girls and their mothers head to a countryside retreat to spend the final days of an unforgettable summer.

10 ವರ್ಷದ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಗ್ಲೋರಿಯಾ, ತುಂಬಾ ಕಷ್ಟಪಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುವ, ನರ್ಸ್ ಆಗಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ತನ್ನ ರಜೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ಆವರಣವನ್ನು ಅನ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಗ್ಲೋರಿಯಾಗೆ ಸೋಫಿಯಾ ಎಂಬ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಪರಿಚಯವಾಗುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ತನ್ನ ಮುತ್ತಜ್ಜಿಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಹದಗೆಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಅವಳು ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಗೆ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿರುವುದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮವೇ ಎಂದು ಸೋಫಿಯಾ ನಂಬಿರುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಹಂಬಲ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಒಂದುಗೂಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಸಂಗಡದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಿರ್ಗಮಿಸುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾದಾಗ, ಆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಹುಡುಗಿಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ತಾಯಂದಿರು ಒಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಾಡಿನ ತಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಮರೆಯಲಾಗದ ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯ ಕೊನೆಯ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Rafaela Camelo (b. 1985) is a Brazilian director and screenwriter. Her short film DESIRES OF THE FLESH (2019) premiered at Sundance and won Best Film at the Biarritz Amérique Latine and New Directors/New Films festivals. In 2023, she co-directed THE BEADS with Emanuel Lavor, which premiered at the Berlinale and won the Golden Horsemen at the 36th Film Fest Dresden. She is part of Projeto Paradiso’s Talent Network, a Berlinale Talents alumna (2021), and was named one of Variety’s “10 Brazilian Next-Gen Talents” in 2023.
