Vishwanatha Raya, a benevolent Jodidar of Simhadri village, fights social evils like liquor and gambling while raising three sons. Family rifts emerge as his educated sons prioritize urban ambitions over rural values - eldest loves a liquor baron's daughter, middle son's wife resents village life, youngest defies arranged marriage. After losing his wife and memory in a pilgrimage accident, Vishwanath returns transformed, reunites family, defeats corruption, and ascends spiritually.

ಸಿಂಹಾದ್ರಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಕರುಣಾಮಯಿ ಜೋಡಿದಾರ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ ರಾಯ್ ಮದ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಜೂಜಿನಂತಹ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಪಿಡುಗುಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಾ, ತನ್ನ ಮೂವರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಓದಿ ದೊಡ್ಡವರಾದ ನಂತರ ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಮೌಲ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಗರ ಜೀವನದ ಮಹತ್ವಾಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆಗಳ ಬೆನ್ನುಹತ್ತಿದಾಗ ಕೌಟುಂಬಿಕ ಬಿರುಕು ಉಂಟಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಗ ಮದ್ಯದ ದೊರೆಯೊಬ್ಬನ ಮಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮಧ್ಯದವನು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಬದುಕನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಿರಿಯವನು ಮನೆಯವರು ನೋಡಿದ ಮದುವೆಯನ್ನು ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಯಾತ್ರೆಯೊಂದರ ವೇಳೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಗೂ ತನ್ನ ನೆನಪನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡ ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥನು, ನಂತರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಬದಲಾಗಿದವನಾಗಿ ಮರಳಿ ಬಂದು ಕುಟುಂಬವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಉನ್ನತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Dorai-Bhagavan, one of the most successful directing duos in Kannada cinema, consisting of B. Dorai Raj (1932 - 2000) and S.K. Bhagavan (1933 - 2023). They began their careers as assistants to H.M. Reddy and Kanagal Prabhakar Sastry. They made their debut with JEDARA BALE (1968), introducing the James Bond–style spy thriller in an Indian cinematic idiom. Renowned for their technical finesse and their partnership with Dr. Rajkumar produced many super hits. Acclaimed films include KASTURI NIVASA (1971), ERADU KANASU (1974), BAYALU DAARI (1976), and JEEVANA CHAITRA (1992). They received the Puttanna Kanagal Award for their monumental contribution to the industry.
