In quiet VAGHACHIPANI, a minor Shepherdess is found pregnant, Since this girl with intellectual disabilities has no idea what sex or pregnancy is, her powerful employer who wants to be the chairman of the village tries to bury the truth. Although Prabhu begins making efforts to sweep it under the carpet by conspiring to put the blame on Dalit schoolchildren, the local do-gooder Basu is determined to expose him. Adding to Prabhu’s “woes” is his younger brother Venkati’s romantic affair with the lowered-caste Malabari’s sister, Devaki.

ವಾಘಚಿಪಾಣಿ ಎಂಬ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಅಪ್ರಾಪ್ತ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ದನಗಾವಲಿನ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಪಾತಿ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪರಿಷತ್ತಿನ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾಗಲು ಪಣ ತೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಆಕೆಯ ಉದ್ಯೋಗದಾತ ಪ್ರಭು ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಡಲು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಮಲಬಾರಿ ತನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನ ಹಿತ ಕಾಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಪ್ರಭುವಿನ ತಮ್ಮ ವೆಂಕಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಎದುರಾಳಿ ಬಸು ಮಗ್ಗುಲಿನ ಮುಳ್ಳಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಮಾನಸಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥಳಾದ ಪಾತಿಗೆ ಗರ್ಭಧಾರಣೆ ಎಂದರೇನು ಎಂದೂ ಸಹ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ.

Director and scriptwriter Natesh Hegde was born and brought up in Yellapura in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India. He completed a master’s in journalism at the Karnataka University Dharwad. PEDRO (2021), his debut feature film, was part of the NFDC Film Bazaar’s Work-in-Progress Lab in 2019 and had its world premiere in the Busan New Currents Competition in 2021. It won the Roberto Rossellini award for Best Director at the 5th Pingyao International Film Festival and the Montgolfière d’argent at the Festival des 3 Continents in Nantes. His short stories have been published in major Kannada-language magazines.
