Abandoned at birth by his unwed mother, Wendemi has lived with unanswered questions for twenty years. Now an adult and in love, he hopes to marry, but the absence of his mother and the mystery of his origins stand in his way. Determined to confront the past, he travels to the capital in search of the woman who abandoned him—the only person who can reveal the truth about his birth. His journey becomes both a physical search and an emotional reckoning, shaped by memory, longing, and the need for belonging.

Saint Pierre Yaméogo was a Burkinabè filmmaker born in Koudougou, Burkina Faso. His debut feature LAAFI was selected for La Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival in 1991. His second feature WENDEMI won a prize at FESPACO 1993 and was selected for Cannes Un Certain Regard. Dividing his time between Ouagadougou and Paris, he founded his production company Dunia Production, which supported films by African filmmakers including Dani Kouyaté, Guy Désiré Yaméogo, and Missa Hebié.
