After a petrol station robbery ends in bloodshed, Samba Traoré escapes with a suitcase full of stolen money and disappears. Years later, he returns to his native village, hoping to leave his violent past behind. Life there seems unchanged, and Saratou, the woman he once loved, still holds his attention. Yet beneath the calm surface, guilt and memory linger. As Samba tries to rebuild his life and start anew, the weight of his past slowly closes in, revealing how old crimes and buried mistakes inevitably resurface.

Idrissa Ouédraogo (1954 - 2018, Banfora, Burkina Faso), studied cinema at the African Institute for Cinema Studies in Ouagadougou, trained in Kiev, and graduated from IDHEC in Paris in 1985, also earning a DEA from the Sorbonne. He founded his production company, later known as LES FILMS DE LA PLAINE. His acclaimed films include YAM DAABO, YAABA, TILAÏ, SAMBA TRAORÉ, and LE CRI DU CŒUR, establishing him as a key voice of African cinema.
