Set in Côte d’Ivoire, this lively comedy follows Demi-God, a wealthy pineapple magnate with five wives who believes his carefully ordered polygamous household is perfectly balanced. Confident in his authority, he decides to take yet another wife, convinced that it will bring greater harmony. Instead, the arrival of Binta, a spirited young woman forced into the marriage after clashing with tradition, throws his world into chaos. As old customs collide with modern attitudes, the film uses sharp humor to explore greed, power, arranged marriage, and polygamy, offering a playful yet pointed look at changing social values.

Henri Duparc (1941 - 2006, Forecariah, Guinea), was a pioneering African filmmaker who later settled in Côte d’Ivoire. He studied cinema in Belgrade and at the Institut des Hautes Études Cinématographiques (IDHEC) in Paris. Working with the Société Ivoirienne de Cinéma, he directed several documentaries and his first fiction film MOUNA OU LE RÊVE D’UN ARTISTE. His film ABUSUAN received a special mention at FESPACO in 1973. His acclaimed filmography includes LES RACINES DE LA VIE, L’HERBE SAUVAGE, BAL POUSSIÈRE, and RUE PRINCESSE.
